Sauna

The sauna is good for body and soul. It helps you stay in shape, gives you energy and makes you feel healthier. Reserves are refreshed, resistance improved and your body and soul relaxed. InTension Health Club has a Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna.

Finnish sauna
The higher temperatures at the Finnish Sauna open up your pores in the first couple of minutes and get the sweat glands going. The body starts to sweat and cool down through evaporation. The moisture required to sweat is directly withdrawn from the blood, causing blood pressure to drop and the body to be 'rinsed out'. Sweating demands lots of energy and leads to loss of calories and a workout for the heart and blood vessels.

Infrared sauna
The effect of the rays at the infrared sauna encourage metabolism and allow an intensive circulation in skin and muscles. Oxygen and foods are better absorbed by the muscles. Toxic waste is removed from the body faster. The result is a clean and healthy skin and body, more flexible muscles, and a general feeling of wellbeing. The purifying effect of the infrared sauna has a positive effect on skin diseases such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. The heat relieves muscles and joint pain (sprains, rheumatism and arthritis) both as swelling and stiffness. By generating heat inside the body, a better immune system is built against viruses and bacteria, and the production of white corpuscles encouraged. This improves total resistance. Using the infrared sauna regularly keeps the body in good health. It is the perfect spot for relaxation and energy refuelling in a peaceful environment.
